The Shower

Well, my sister-in-law's baby shower was yesterday, so I got to give Avery her doll quilt. I made a matching pillow for it, and I think she liked it! We had lunch at the tearoom and she got all kinds of wonderful stuff for the new baby. Now, if I can only get the quilt for the baby done by the time she gets here, in approximately six weeks, we'll be okay!

Avery's doll quilt

This is my first "real" quilt. It's a doll quilt that I made for my neice. It kinda looks like a big placemat, but I'm going to make a pillow to go with it too. The great thing about this was that I used all scraps from a couple dresses I had made and that my mother had given me, so I didn't have to buy anything! This was the first time I had used my walking foot. I haven't had a chance to practice using the free motion foot yet, but I hope to soon.

My Very First Quilt

Well, here it is! I got the pattern from Seasons At Home Magazine. It was supposed to be a summer quilt, but I made it Christmas instead! I'm pretty proud of myself!
